Almargem

Almargem aims to protect the environment and eradicate the current unsustainable model of economics and growth. It is also a founding member of the Confederation of Portuguese environmental associations (CPADA). Almargem focuses on several projects including preserving cultural heritage, environmental education, ecotourism and mountaineering, biodiversity, environmental conversation, and ecological intervention. A few of their projects are: * Holding musical and cultural events in public spaces in the historic center of Loulé. * Encouraging mountaineering and outdoor activities, with particular emphasis on the development of the first Great Pedestrian Route of the Algarve. * Starting an Environmental Center in partnership with the municipality of Loulé. The Environmental Center focuses on general education and awareness about environmental issues, with a particular focus on educating children and young people.
