CARE is an international non-profit humanitarian organization that fights for social equity and climate justice. They are based in France and remain apolitical and non-denominational. CARE focuses on defending women's rights, providing emergency humanitarian aid, pulling people out of extreme poverty, and the climate emergency. While climate change affects all regions of the world, the poorest populations, who do not have the means to protect themselves on a daily basis, are the most affected. Women, in particular, are on the front line. In response, CARE works in vulnerable regions to conserve and restore the land and water, prepare and respond to natural disasters, support adaptation and sustainable agriculture, and push for climate policies that support a rapid transition away from fossil fuels and onto renewable energy.
