Climate Justice Alliance (CJA) aims to create a new center of gravity in the climate movement. They unite frontline communities and organizations into a formidable force. CJA is comprised of racial and economic justice organizations of Indigenous Peoples, Black, Latinx, Asian Pacific Islander, and low-income white communities who share legacies of racial and economic oppression. Their focus includes human rights, transitioning to an equitable and regenerative economy, supporting frontline communities during climate disasters, democracy, food sovereignty, and working with politicians to pass policies that protect frontline communities and our Earth. That includes practices that build economic and political power to shift from an extractive economy to a regenerative economy. This means approaching production and consumption cycles holistically and waste-free. The transition itself is meant to be just and equitable; redressing past harms and creating new relationships of power for the future through reparations. CJA is open to everyone and is a good group for BIPOC and lower-income people in particular. Get started by signing up to receive their newsletter and following them on social media. From there you can volunteer, donate, or host a party to support them. Frontline organizations, networks, alliances, and ally organizations are welcome to apply to become a member of the CJA network.
