Ducks Unlimited Canada is a non-profit organization in Canada that works to protect waterfowl (ducks, geese, and other large aquatic birds) and their habitats. Their primary focus is on protecting habitats important to waterfowl. They accomplish this by restoring grasslands, replanting forests, restoring watersheds, educating landowners, and acquiring land. They operate projects in every Canadian province and territory and have expanded their operations to include conservation projects in every state of the United States and in Mexico. They also educate the public, work with indigenous peoples, and work closely with government leaders, conservation leaders, private landowners, and farmers to ensure that environmental protections are contained in federal, provincial, and municipal policy. Ducks Unlimited Canada is best for residents of Canada but open to anyone who has a keen interest in protecting waterfowl and their habitats. Get started by signing up to receive their newsletter. Also check out their upcoming events (both online and across Canada), volunteer opportunities, educational resources, and details about visiting a wetland!
