Elders Climate Action (ECA) mobilizes elders throughout the country to address climate change while there is still time to protect the well-being of future generations. They are dedicated to using their power, caring, wisdom and numbers to push for strong policies that will reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere to a level consistent with life thriving on our planet. It is a non-partisan effort to end the climate crisis and build a just and sustainable future for all children and grandchildren. A good place to start is to sign up for their email list. Beyond that, there are specific projects to help and support. If you want to go deeper, they have volunteer councils and committees that span coordinating, communications, policy, and education, among other topics. Elders Climate Actions also has some local chapters where members have decided to take action on climate issues within their community, state, or region. Chapters participate in local events, rallies, town halls, candidate forums, meetings with elected officials, and more. You can see if there is a chapter in your area. Not all areas of the country are covered, but there is the opportunity to start up a local chapter.
