La Via Campesina

An international movement that coordinates peasant organizations of small and middle-scale producers, agricultural workers, rural women, and indigenous communities from Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe. They advocate for family farm-based sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty. The organization carries out campaigns for sustainable and equitable agrarian practices, to defend farmers' right to seeds, to stop violence against women, to stop the climate crisis and end the age of fossil fuels, and to generally fight for the rights of peasants and migrant workers. This global coalition is a platform for its members worldwide to communicate and carry out joint solidarity actions, mobilizations, and campaigns in defense of land, water, seeds, and forests.
