The NAJU (Youth Association for the Protection of Nature ) is the independent youth organization of NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union). With over 1,000 local groups and 100,000 members, NAJU is one of Germany’s largest youth environmental organisations. By allowing young people to experience nature, participate in conservation, and shape environmental policy, NAJU is helping to pave the way for a sustainable society for generations to come. They offer environmental education and encourage young people to take part in debates, projects, campaigns, and make political demands. Among other things, its working groups at the federal and state level focus on promoting a socially just transition to renewable energy, ecological agriculture, climate protection, the maintenance of biodiversity, and sustainable consumption and lifestyle. NAJU is open to residents of Germany between the ages of 6 to 27. You can get started by signing up for their newsletter, following them on social media, and searching for a local group. Also check out their outdoor events and educational resources and trainings.
