Inspired by the legendary Robin Hood: ROBIN WOOD is a non-profit environmental organization in Germany that has been fighting against forest dieback in Germany and tropical countries since 1982. The “Avengers of the Dying Forests“ - as the activists call themselves - draw the public‘s attention by carrying out spectacular actions. Robin Wood has a network of local grassroots groups around Germany. They hold actions online but also participate in nonviolent direct actions in the streets and in nature to stop projects that are destroying our climate and ecosystems. Their main focus is on conserving forests, phasing out fossil fuels, climate justice, and sustainable transportation, but they also work for degrowth and a regenerative economy, publically owned infrastructure and energy, reducing waste, and limiting aviation, hazardous waste, and dangerous corporations. Get started by signing up to receive their newsletter, follow their social media pages, and join or start a local group!
