On a mission to enable people to clean up the coastlines and waterways they love. When they are not rolling up their sleeves, they are helping educate local communities on how to better manage their waste. Their goal is to see 60% less litter on the coastlines of Aotearoa New Zealand by empowering communities to take action for their local beach through coastal clean-up events, educational programmes, public awareness campaigns, and litter data collection. They also support the Litter Intelligence database. It is a long-term programme that collects litter data, provides powerful insights about the problem, and inspires widespread action for solutions. The programme works in close collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment, Department of Conservation and Statistics New Zealand. They have coastal clean-up events, educational programmes, public awareness campaigns, and riparian planting projects. They also work with volunteers, interns, ambassadors, and local community groups to enable them to deliver these activities in their own communities. To get started, you can sign up for their mailing list. Also take a look at volunteer opportunities, upcoming events, and their resources page, which has information about beach cleanups.
