Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI) is one of the largest and oldest environmental advocacy NGOs in Indonesia, networking with over 479 NGO’s throughout the country. They raise awareness and educate the public about environmental issues, work with politicians to pass policy, communicate with the media, and take legal action to stop fossil fuel projects. Their focus includes agrarian conflict over access to natural resources, indigenous rights and peasants, coastal and marine protection, and deforestation.
