Ecologistas en Acción

Ecologistas en Acción is a non-profit organization that networks over 300 environmental groups distributed throughout towns and cities in Spain. The different groups work together using horizontal and decentralized decision-making. Ecologistas en Acción mobilize citizens to fight for a socially just society based on environmental protection and sustainability. They do this by raising awareness, holding politicians and polluting companies to account, and developing and implementing solutions to stop climate and ecological breakdown. Their areas of focus include sustainable agriculture, conserving land and water, anti-globalization, over-consumption, clean air, women's rights and eco-feminism, renewable energy, sustainable transportation, and more. It carries out awareness campaigns and files public or legal complaints against actions that damage the environment, while developing specific and viable alternatives in each of the areas in which it operates. The organization is structured territorially through Federations and groups , these being the organizational and decision-making base of the association. This decentralized decision-making is based on the Assembly as the highest decision-making body. All residents of Spain are encouraged to join Ecologistas en Acción.
